1. Basic introduction of decanter centrifuge
The decanter centrifuge is a new type of horizontal screw discharge centrifuge. Its working principle is to use the solid-liquid specific gravity difference, and rely on the centrifugal force field to expand it thousands of times. The solid phase is settled under the action of centrifugal force, thereby realizing The solid and liquid are separated and discharged from the body under the action of a special mechanism. The whole feeding and separation process is completed continuously, closed and automatically.
The suspension added to the drum forms an annular liquid layer under the action of centrifugal force, and the solid particles in it settle on the drum wall to form a sediment. The clear liquid is discharged through the overflow port of the drum or the suction pipe, which is called the separated liquid. At the end of the separation, the sediment is discharged manually or mechanically. During the process of settling to the drum wall, the solid particles also move axially with the liquid flow. When the feed amount is too large, they flow to the overflow port with the liquid, while the fine particles that have not settled on the drum wall are discharged with the separation liquid. Rotate the drum to make the separation liquid cloudy. For the difficult-to-separate suspension with small solid-liquid phase density difference, small solid particles or high liquid viscosity, a sedimentation centrifuge with a high separation factor should be selected to prolong the residence time of the suspension in the drum (for example, reducing the feed amount or using a long drum, etc.), to ensure that the separation liquid is clear. The decanter centrifuge has a wide range of uses, especially for the separation of suspensions in centrifugal filtration when the filtration resistance is too large or the fine particles are lost too much because the solid particles are easy to block the filter medium, but the moisture content of the sediment is high. The decanter centrifuge can be used for the separation of crystallization, chemical sediment, coal powder and other suspensions, the dehydration of various sewage sludge, and the slag removal and clarification of animal and vegetable oils.
